We are going to gather as many people as we can from WVBA churches to come play, eat, fellowship, and worship together.

Jewish Evangelism and the Dangers of Hebrew Roots

Riviera Baptist Church invites you to a seminar with Delora Neuschwander from Chosen People Ministries on two subjects, Jewish Evangelism and the dangers of the Hebrew Roots movement. She will be addressing questions like:

Jewish Evangelism
1. What is the current state of Jewish evangelism efforts?
2. What are some best practices for evangelism to Jewish people?
3. How can we help Jewish converts incorporate into the body of Christ with Gentiles?
4. How can we help Jewish converts who struggle with their New Covenant freedoms?

Hebrew Roots
1. What is the Hebrew Roots movement?
2. Who is the HR movement appealing to and why?
3. How is it different from Messianic Jews?
4. What are the dangers of HR?
5. How can we defend our faith from the HR movement?

Simeon Trust Workshop on Biblical Interpretation

The WVBA (anyone is invited) is having a workshop on the Simeon Trust First Principles class. This class is valuable for any believer, whether or not they teach or preach, though there is an emphasis on learning for the purpose of teaching and/or preaching. We will gather for two consecutive Saturdays at Calvary Baptist Church in Albany.

The course will cover 8 areas:

1) Staying on the Line - Sufficiency of Scripture
2) Pathway for Preparation - Overview Pathway for Working Through a Text
3) Structure - Discovering the Emphasis of the Text
4) Context
5) Melodic Line - How the Big Idea of the Whole Book Relates to the Text
6) Text and Framework - Theological and Cultural Frameworks
7) Connecting to the Gospel
8) Application

Lunch will be provided.
